COVID-19 Announcements

Updated SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – July 1, 2020

July 1, 2020

We will continue to have the services available online and on-site!  Measures described below must be followed as the safety of everyone is important.

Please be courteous to others and social-distance, DON’T attend if not feeling well, especially a fever, cough, or difficult breathing. We encourage wearing a mask, but it is not required.

Service and Service Times:

  • Services are at 9 AM.
  • We will sit one household per pew with alternating pews used. These will be clearly marked with different colored paper. This will limit the households per service.
  • The service will be streamed on Facebook Live and for viewing afterwards on the Website and facebook page. This is to aid those who should stay at home or are hesitant to get out during this time.
  • Wednesday afternoon devotionals will also continue to be streamed. This would provide an extra opportunity for people to hear God’s Word during these uncertain times.

Service Operations:

  • Both doors at the East and South entrance will be propped open before the service so that no one needs to touch a door handle to enter. They will remain open throughout the service.
  • There will be one person to operate the elevator to avoid multiple handling of the elevator controls.
  • Everyone entering will sanitize their hands with provided sanitizer. Someone will be there to dispense so you will not need to touch the pump.
  • Masks are encouraged to be worn. Gloves at attendees’ option.
  • Only the center aisle will be used.
  • Parents will be encouraged to bring their own activity things for little children.
  • The screen will also be used.
  • One household will be allowed to sit in each designated pew (a household is people living under the same roof). Households will be required to go to the front pews and sit all the way to the outer edge.
  • After the service, people will be dismissed from the back pew to the front. Please do not loiter in the narthex.
  • Offering will be collected on the way out.
  • After everyone leaves, all pews and any other common materials used will be sanitized.
  • ONLY the UPSTAIRS Bathroom will be used for emergencies.
Here’s What We Are Doing For Communion:
-4 Communicants or 1 family at a time will be ushered forward by the elders.
-Pastor will use hand sanitizer with each table that comes up. He will gently place the wafer into your folded hands (without touching your hands).
-The elders will place a communion cup on the altar rail for you to pick up and receive. The altar rail will be sanitized after each communing table.
-If you are a communing member, who doesn’t feel comfortable receiving the Lord’s Supper yet, remember you do not have to come up to receive it. If you would like it privately, please make an appointment with Pastor.
-If you are a communing member, who would like communion to be brought to you, please notify an elder and we will commune you using a styrofoam plate.
-These conditions are not ideal, and we pray that things will start to return back to normal soon. But things are getting better! This is a good and great thing that we can once again celebrate communion together publicly! Let us rejoice together in the celebration of our Lord’s victory in His Holy Supper!

For those choosing not to attend, we felt it very important to find ways to continue to bring the Word to our membership.  This has gradually developed into the following ways to see and hear God’s Word.

  1. Facebook live stream of the service every Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church State Center, IA LCMS
    1. Replay on the same facebook page
    2. Also, on church website trinitylutheransc.com – go to the upper right hand corner and hit the “f”. You do not need a facebook account to watch the video replay.
  2. You Tube recording of the service. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrUGUxVT9pyXX5ltIwNGPcA
    1. A second recording is of just the sermon.
  3. Weekly Children’s “Lets Learn Bible Verses with Pastor”

  4. Weekly Psalms Devotional “Wednesday in the Word”
    1. Both Facebook and YouTube channel – access is the same as #1 & #2 above.

Pastor is keeping office hours Monday thru Thursday from 10 AM until 4 PM.

Updated SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – May 1

May 1, 2020

Blessings to all in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus Christ!

All of us would love things to get back to normal in our country.  The Lord is in control and fortunately that leaves us as His people the role of prayer and patience. We encourage everyone to remember to Trust in the Word. Here are some passages of comfort for you and your family during this strange time in the world. Isaiah 41:10; 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 4:16-18; Philippians 4:6; and Joshua 1:9.

Great News! We will continue to have the services available online. However, Trinity Lutheran Church will begin to have on-site services May 17 at 9:00 am!  This is still under an EXTREMELY controlled environment because mass gatherings are still not allowed. Measures described below must be followed as the safety of everyone is important.

Please be courteous to others and social-distance, DON’T attend if not feeling well, especially a fever, cough, or difficult breathing. We encourage wearing a mask, but it is not required.

From Iowa District East: Gov. Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration until May 27, 2020. The proclamation loosens social distancing measures in 77 Iowa counties effective Friday, May 1 and continues other restrictions until 11:50 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020. Watch the governor’s news conference here.

In the 77 counties, the proclamation permits restaurants, fitness centers, malls, libraries, race tracks, and certain other retail establishments to reopen in a limited fashion with public health measures in place. In addition, the proclamation lifts the restriction on religious and spiritual gatherings so long as churches and other gathering hosts implement reasonable public health measures. All other regulatory relief previously provided to affected Iowans is also extended until Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

SECTION ONE.  I strongly encourage all vulnerable Iowans, including those with preexisting medical conditions and those older than 65, in all counties of the state to continue to limit their activities outside of their home, including their visits to businesses and other establishments and their participation in gatherings of any size and any purpose.

Service and Service Times:

  • Beginning May 17, in person services will resume. We will also make the summertime change to 9 AM.
  • We will sit one household per pew with alternating pews used. These will be clearly marked with different colored paper. This will limit the households per service.
  • The service will be streamed on Facebook Live and for viewing afterwards on the Website, facebook page, and the call-in number. (See details later in this letter) This is to aid those who should stay at home or are hesitant to get out during this time.
  • Wednesday afternoon devotionals will also continue to be streamed. This would provide an extra opportunity for people to hear God’s Word during these uncertain times.
